Lisbon remains the more affordable option, though the gap has narrowed considerably since 2023. A one-bedroom apartment in central Lisbon averages around 900 EUR per month, compared to 1,100 EUR in Barcelona. Groceries, dining out and transportation are roughly 15-20% cheaper in Lisbon. However, salaries in Barcelona tend to be higher, which partially offsets the cost difference for those working locally.
Culture and Lifestyle
Barcelona's energy is unmistakable. The city pulses with a creative intensity driven by Catalan identity, world-renowned architecture and a nightlife scene that starts well past midnight.
